The Lexus RC is not as well balanced (55%/45% front/rear) and 222 pounds heavier, making handling more difficult. Finally, Lexus has an older-generation 6-speed gearbox, while BMW has a much newer 8-speed. Both the RC 350 and the BMW 430i shine, but once you drive the BMW 4 Series, it’s easy to see which option shines brighter!

Practicality:

The BMW infuses practicality more effectively with luxury than the Lexus. The BMW gets an impressive 27 combined MPG, while the Lexus gets only 21 combined MPG. Even though the Lexus RC has larger exterior dimensions, the BMW has significantly more leg room, head room, shoulder room, and luggage capacity. It is almost impressive that with a bigger car, the Lexus RC does not afford the driver the interior space the 430i offers with smaller exteior measurements. Want a sunroof? That’ll cost you $1,100 on the Lexus, while it’s standard on the 430i. Want leather seats? Well, you can’t get them on the RC 350. Finally, Lexus only gives 1 year / 10,000 miles of complementary maintenance, while BMW stands behind it’s 430i with 3 years / 36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance. Please do yourself a favor, go with the BMW 430i–you’ll be much happier.
